ABOUT CLOUD

Role of Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing represents the future of computing.

Almost all organizations of all kinds and sizes are adopting cloud computing to manage their businesses.

Global manufacturers of computer systems are moving intensely towards adopting the design and manufacturing of cloud computing products.

Cloud vendors offer cloud computing services through massive data centers to serve their clients regardless of their data processing, security, protection, and integrity requirements.

No individual or organization in the public and private sectors can avoid adopting cloud computing.

We all use the Cloud in one way or another; e-mail systems are a clear example.

Benefits of Cloud Computing

It saves capital and operational expenses for the workforce, technical equipment, or premises.

Organizations move to a pay-as-you-consume operational business model.

Provide almost immediate computing capabilities to businesses based on their operational needs.

Promote the privacy and protection of personal, government, and national data.

Contribute to strengthening the national economy by encouraging investment in the field of information technology.

Promote the digital transformation process in Kuwait since cloud computing is one of its main enablers.

Forget about infrastructure upgrades, expansions, maintenance, etc.

Select Cloud Adoption Considerations

The transition to the Cloud is a challenging and daunting change that requires significant planning and preparation.

There is a significant learning curve, especially for the organization planning to develop native Cloud applications.

The transition involves developing plans and specialized capabilities in selecting Cloud computing systems and services, building new operational models, discussing contractual terms, and specifying optimum SLA contractual terms. These are mandatory to secure the interest of the organization.

Determining the location(s) of storing the information and the responsibility for its security are critical issues to be aware of when negotiating with cloud computing service providers. These may touch on the sovereign policies of the state.
